Cast porcelain, ceramic decals, 3D printed connectors, threaded steel rod, 38 x 27 x 24, 2017
This body of work is part of an ongoing series of work that attempts to materialize our increasingly virtual landscape. Simulating cellular structures and comprised of modular porcelain connectors, this work is designed to be assembled on site. Nine parts were digitally modeled, then 3D printed before being molded and cast as multiples in porcelain. Customized 3D printed connectors allow parts to be threaded together with threaded steel rod.
This work was produced with support from a North Carolina Artist Fellowship and shown at a group exhibition of fellowship recipients at the Cameron Art Museum in, Wilmington, NC.
